Tech Companies May Drive a Sustainable Future
The annual report on regional progress and challenges of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Latin America and the Caribbean was published this year. It showed a movement away from achieving the region’s sustainable goals: only a third of the 111 goals have followed the right direction
I believe we still have the chance to impact the world positively. Companies need to analyze how they run their businesses and measure how their operations impact the environment. We can incorporate sustainability into every process, cultivating a sustainable mindset based on innovation and technology.
The largest tech companies have the resources and the influence in our lives to be leaders and agents of change regarding climate change issues. According to International Data Corporation (IDC), the continued adoption of cloud computing could prevent the emission of more than 1 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) from 2021 through 2024[ii].
Although there is no single technological solution that can solve the climate crisis, it is an essential tool that we need to implement to achieve a profound transformation because by adopting technologies, we cannot only aim to reduce the environmental impact, but we can also increase the productivity and profitability of our businesses. For instance, making changes in the supply chain has the potential to improve results significantly.
At ITPS One, we believe businesses can function as intelligent and sustainable enterprises.
We can join you in the journey to be part of the digital transformation and start creating a sustainable future together.
